Counseling Approach
I approach therapy as a Black woman and clinician grounded in womanist and decolonial values. This means I center the wisdom, experiences, and needs of Black women and communities while actively challenging the colonial biases in traditional mental health practices.
My counseling style is culturally responsive and narrative-based, focusing on perinatal mental health and caregiving transitions. In our work together, I honor your story and recognize how cultural context shapes each person’s experience.
My role is to help you find empowerment and healing in a manner that aligns with your values and contributes to your liberation.
Ultimately, I am committed to holding space for both the personal and the political dimensions of your story, so that therapy becomes not just a path to personal well-being but also a step toward collective liberation.
